Flat card for mailing.

Hi, everyone!  Today I have a card to share with you that is extremely flat and perfect for mailing, but it my opinion, isn't boring.  I normally have a hard time making cards flat because I always want to give them tons of dimension, but everyone knows they aren't the best for mailing.  The sentiment is from the new SP & Company - Bold Sentiments III: Birthdays set and the background is done using the Bold Houndstooth Background in VersaMark ink.
I did quite a bit of masking so that the houndstooth was only where I wanted it, but it really didn't take that long.  I used the Echo Park - Dots & Stripes Candy Shoppe 6x6 Pad for the candles to help tie in the sentiment.  I finished it off with some white gel pen stitching to help frame everything.  I used a ruler to get these lines as straight as possible.
Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day!  :)

Cake on the cake!

Hi, everyone!  Today I have a fun little card to share with you!  I used the brand new SP & Company - Bold Sentiments III: Birthdays set for the sentiment, but decided to change it up a little bit.  Since the sentiment is about cake I decided to make a little cake out of patterned paper and use the sentiment as the bottom layer.  There was no measuring involved, I basically cut three squares and rounded the top corners.  The stand was done using the ends of a label punch I had in my stash.  You could even use small half circles if you wanted to.  All the patterned paper is from the Echo Park - This & That Graceful 6x6 Pad.

A Note 4 You

Hi, everyone!  Today I have a card to share with you that uses the SP & Company - Stitchery Doo Banners set.  I think this is one of my favorite sets of all time because the banners are so hot right now!  I also love that you can flip the one sided banners to go either left or right, it's totally up to you.  For this project I wanted the banner to come from the right so I made it facing to the left.  I also used the really long banner but just shortened it.
The main thing I want to point out about this card is that it uses all patterned papers from the Echo Park - Note to Self 6x6 pad.  I wanted to show how you can do this and have the patterns flow.  The biggest thing that I try to follow is to not layer two busy patterns on top of each other.  I chose the cork pattern for the main background because it was subtle so that I could layer the busy pennants on top. Another thing I love about the Echo Park 6x6 pads is that they normally come with a couple solids that match the colors.  The red layer that I drew stitch lines on is actually a paper from the pad so it coordinates perfectly.  For the love on the pennants I used the 'Stitched Together with Love' sentiment from the Sewing Chic set and stamped each letter separately and then punched them out with a hole punch.  To make it seem like they were strung I used some Baker's Twine and added a line and two bows on either end.
Even though this card has a slightly masculine feel I added a little heart to the sentiment, but I still think it could easily be given to anyone.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  :)

Sentiment Pop

Hi, everyone!  Today I want to show you a fun way to get your sentiment to pop!  I used one of my favorite go-to stamp sets, SP & Company's - For Every Woman, and used the 'Thanks for being you' sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment over and over in a light gray and then stamped one in a much brighter pink.  I love the look of this and I think it makes for a really fun background as well.  I added a strip of card stock to the background and cut some banner ends and added some pearls to finish it off.
Here's a better view of the sentiment and little butterfly accent.

Spunky Mermaid

Hi, everyone!  This week's challenge over at iCopic is to use the RV color family!  I used Mermaid Anya by The Greeting Farm and stamped her in Memento - Tuxedo Black ink.  I have used her before for crazy hair colors but I feel she's perfect for almost any fun color!  I colored her with Copics:
hair and top: RV29, RV25, RV23
hair: E31, Y35, Y21, Y13, Y11
skin: E13, E21, E51
tail: YG25, YG23, YG21
I spritzed the background with the Rose Bud Fireworks spray.  This stuff is so fun and shimmery, I love it!
All of the patterned paper, besides the pink, is from the Echo Park - Hello Summer 6x6 Paper Pad.
For her tail I decided to try something different.  I cut out a piece of lace in the shape of her tail and then adhered it by using Glossy Accents.  I think this is really fun because it gives the look of scales and also some added texture.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  :)

Stitchery Prize Ribbon

Hi, everyone!  Today I have a gift tag to share with you!  I used the SP & Company - Stitchery Doo Banners set to make a prize ribbon!  It was actually super easy and when I was looking at the set deciding on what to make, it jumped right out at me!  I used the scalloped circle and the regular circle for the blue part and then the longest banner for the tails.  I pretty much cut everything for the ribbon out by hand besides the tiny black layer peeking out behind the plain circle, that was done with a circle punch.  All the patterned paper is from the Echo Park - Dots & Stripes Candy Shoppe 6x6 paper pad.  The orange and pink background was really simple.  I just cut strips of paper at no specific size and adhered them to a 3 1/2" x 2" piece of printer paper.
For the ties on the tag I decided to punch a hole with a regular hole punch and feed a few colors of coordinating Baker's Twine through it.  I think it adds a nice pop of color.

I hope you'll have fun making your very own customized prize ribbon!  :)
Thanks for stopping by!

3D Fergus

Hi, everyone!  Today I have a card to share with you that uses the super cute Fergus Wishing stamp by Wild Rose Studio.  I didn't want the present from the stamp for this particular project so I only inked Fergus and any ink that got onto the present I carefully wiped away with a baby wipe.
I made him 3D which you'll be able to see in a picture at the bottom.  I stamped him in Memento - Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with Copics:
BV02, BV01, BV00
R24, R22, R20
Y35, Y15, Y13, Y11
G05, G03, G02
BG13, BG11
I wanted to be able to sponge some blue and green ink onto the background so I used the X-Press It Masking Sheets to make it super easy.  I stamped Fergus onto the masking paper using StazOn ink and then carefully cut it out.  Now I'm able to save that mask and use it over and over.
The yellow background paper is from the Echo Park - Dots & Stripes Candy Shoppe 6x6 paper pad and the tiny red border around the main image is from the This & That Graceful 6x6 paper pad.
I wanted to add a sentiment so I chose to use the little 'xoxo' from the Lawn Fawn - Love 'n Breakfast set and then punched it out with a tag punch.
I wanted to give the top layer, the reds, a little something extra so I used some Glossy Accents to give them some shine.
Here is a side view of the main image.  I colored and layered quite a bit to give him tons of dimension!
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  :)

Hugs & Kisses Goodie Bag

Hi, everybody!  Today for my iCopic project I have a fun goodie bag to share with you.  For the main image I used the absolutely adorable Wild Rose Studio - Wrapped with Love stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I colored it using Copics:
elephants:  C5, C3  ears:  R22, R20
bow:  R29, R27, R24
ladder:  E37, E35
love tag:  BG15, BG13, BG11 and C9 for the string on the tag
I used the SP & Company - Stitchery Doo Banners set for the sentiment which I stamped in coordinating colors.  All the patterned papers I used are from the Echo Park - This & That Graceful 6x6 pad.
I wanted the goodie bag to have a little something extra so I decided to make the present portion of the stamp see through.  I took a window sheet and stamped the image onto it using StazOn ink.  StazOn is perfect for nonporous surfaces where other inks would smear or come off.  Then I took a craft blade and carefully cut out the inside of the package on my colored image.  I adhered the colored image on top of the clear sheet and that was all there was to it.  If you don't care about keeping the little flowers on the package then you could just layer the window sheet behind it without stamping anything onto it first.  Then it would just be perfectly clear.  You also don't want to forget to keep cutting your holes in any paper you're going to use for layering so that it will be clear all the way to the inside.
In the next two pictures I put a box of Nerds in the goodie bag so you could see what it looks like through the window.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!  :)

A Little Hello

Hi, everyone!  Today I have a fun flag card to share with you using the brand new Stitchery Doo Banners set!  I am in LOVE with this set!  Banners like this are so hot right now.  To go along with the card, I also included a short and simple tutorial on how to get your banner on the toothpick to be the same on the front and the back in case you wanted to use them for cupcake toppers!  I decided to use mine on a card so in this particular case it didn't matter if the back was stamped or not.
All the patterned papers on the card are from the Echo Park - Hello Spring Kit.  I added a little bit of twine to the toothpick and some white gel pen stitch lines for some extra detail.
Here are the two stamps from the set that I used.  There's also a longer banner but this one was the perfect size for the sentiment.  I took a 1/2" strip of white card stock and put about three score lines down the center so that it would fold really easily around the toothpick.
Here you can see that I stamped both of the images on either side of the score lines and then cut the ends off at the tail of the banner.
I added a glue dot to the toothpick and then two other ones to the card stock.  Then all you have to do is wrap it around and secure it to itself.  Then you have your very own, simple cupcake topper!
Don't forget to check out the SP Stamps Blog for more inspiration!

Here is the project I made using the awesome, new Stitchery Doo Banners stamp set!  The background was done using the pennant stamp and a VersaMarker.  I alternated the pennants in and up and down pattern and then colored the outside area with the VersaMarker to give it a little darker color.  I added some butterflies and pearls to finish it off.

Woven Box and Cute Koala

Hi, everyone!  Today I have a woven box to share with you!  I had this idea to weave a box out of card stock and this is what came of it!  I was originally thinking of an Easter basket, but instead chose to use the adorable Magnolia - Koala Hug stamp which gave me the feeling of her being on a safari, haha!  I'm not sure you actually see koalas on a safari, maybe an Australian one, but that's besides the point.  ;)
I stamped Tilda and her Koala Bear in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copics:
hair:  E31, Y35, Y15, Y11
skin: YR00, E00, R20 for cheeks
hat and boots:  E29, E27, E25, E23
shirt and hat band:  V15, V12
dress:  Y35, Y15, Y11
koala:  C5, C3, C9 for nose and R20 for ears
I kept the extra detail minimal because of all the stuff going on with the box itself, but I did add a few mini silver brads to her shoes, a linen thread bow and some Glossy Accents to the koala's nose.
Don't forget to head on over to iCopic for more marker inspiration!  :)

Happy Mother's Day

Hi, everyone!  Today I have a Mother's Day card to share with you.  It uses the SP & Company - Baby Bella Dog Single Stamp and the For Every Woman set.  The background of the yellow card base was stamped in VeraMark for a subtle look using the Kokimo Background.  The patterned papers I used, besides the purple, are all from the Echo Park - Hello Spring Kit.  The butterflies were also from a sheet of that patterned paper but I just cut them out and adhered them separately.  The accent on little Bella's collar was done using some purple twine.  I put down some adhesive and just wrapped it around the pearl in a circle.  I finished this card off with a couple more pearl accents by the sentiment.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  :)
